On November 15, 2023, a group of the Rotary Club of Calabasas members were in their seats as part of the crowd preparing to hear the Mayor of Calabasas, and Honorary Rotarian, David Shapiro deliver his "State of the City" address.
We were all there to show our support, and in honor of, Mayor Shapiro when he turned the tables on us! We were so surprised, honored and delighted when Mayor Shapiro recognized us, bestowing on us the award of the Organization of the Year! We are so very excited as our Club President Daniele received the beautiful award, with us all joining her for a photo commemorating the occasion!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Calabasas Mayor and Honorary Rotarian David! To say we are thrilled and deeply honored is an understatement and we look forward to continuing to work with the City of Calabasas, its residents and the surrounding communities for a long time to come!

The Annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival is happening this year! This has been our annual fall festival where we meet, greet and celebrate with the community. You can not celebrate a fall festival without pumpkin pies! We will be selling 'pumpkin pies' whole and by the slice. We will be hosting the Beer & Seltzer Garden again this year. Our featured brewery is 8one8 Brewing Co in Canoga Park. They will be offering a selection of beers, including a fall season brew! This year we will be including 'hard' seltzer, and the infamous Pumpkin Beer.
This is our fall fundraiser to help provide funds to support the needs in our local community. Come join us, have a slice of pumpkin pie, and visit us at the Beer and Seltzer Garden!!
It was a very special afternoon, and we cannot WAIT to do it again! For those of you who missed it, you REALLY did miss a treat! As soon as we know where they are playing again, we will let you know so you can get it on your calendar!
Once again, congratulations Rotary Club of Calabasas!!
We have also learned of other volunteer opportunities for our members at these sites, and will be exploring those in more detail.
Joined by our very own member and Mayor of Calabasas Mary Sue Maurer, a group of us got together for an evening of fun, food, fellowship and may I say it again FUN!! We also had the joy of meeting the brand new member of the Estrada’s household their lovely new pet! So well behaved and affectionate little dog!
We all met up for the last in the Sun Sets Concert Series at Calabasas Lake to listen to, and to sing along with of course, the Surf City Allstars who performed a tribute to the music of the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean! Aaah – I think it took us all back to those “Surfing USA” days!
It was a beautiful evening, surprisingly even got a little chilly, and we heard our Mayor announcing her last ever concert as Mayor and a member of the City Council! We are so very proud to have her as a member of our Club! WHAT a joyful evening!
